The Benefactors are dedicated to the values of connection, engagement, and excitement, and specialize in designing activities to facilitate these principles. They may be conducted under the Benefactors name, or through an alias. They can, and will, manifest in a myriad of forms, such as mysterious or impossible advertisements, an anonymous crowdsourced trinket interchange, or some other form that is yet to be comprehended.

The Benefactors as a whole cannot be traced back to any one singular source. Rather, it’s manifestations simply began cropping up across the Holistic Universal Timeline one day, each exhibiting similar characteristics. These iterations tend to be small groups of dedicated creatives who create social experiences to raise levels of praxis in their local community, identifiable by the Icon of Praxis, a set of four triangles (or two squares?) depicting the way that the everyday world sits within the world of the praxial.

These iterations all have one primary purpose; to beat back the extra-ordinary encroachments of The Mire. The Mire, like The Benefactors, is an elusive and extra-temporal with great ability and reach. It serves to eradicate all forms of creativity, individuality, and fun from existence, achieving its goals through all forms of insufferable red tape, micromanagement, and oppressive ordinariness. It’s origin, leaders, and members are unknown; it is only perceived to be a formless, formidable foe that can only be disabled through elevated levels of praxis.

One such iteration, founded in the Western Arizona Nuclear Fallout Zone in the year 2174, had the good fortune of possessing preexisting time travel technology. This iteration declared themselves to be Benefactors Prime, and took up the task of assisting in the foundation of Benefactor iterations across the H.U.T. This iteration continued to pick up traction, and now serves as the foremost praxis purveyance outfit in the known dimensional continuum.

This iteration of The Benefactors was founded in the year 2021 by Connor Yokley and Spencer Kim. This enterprising pair were contacted by the magnanimous Dr. Barnabus Argyle, Head of the Benefactors Prime Praxial Proliferation Bureau, and guided through the pair through the basics of praxis. They created their first experience, Pop Quiz, for a small group of close friends, before going public with a larger praxis, The Hidden Spool.
